Grace Lee (SOME.GAL) is a multidisciplinary artist and DJ of Jamaican and Scottish heritage from Sheffield. Heavily inspired by the vibrant colours and patterns of nature, Grace expresses herself through textured works which explore themes of connectedness to nature, wellbeing and cultural identity. She creates work which honours and highlights marginalised figures and narratives hidden from the mainstream, paying homage to the full range of our collective cultural heritage.
With an exploratory and experimental approach, encompassing both traditional and digital mediums, from large scale murals to virtual reality environments, her work is united by her commitment to honour the material, social and cultural realities of diasporic or marginalised communities. As an artist and facilitator, Grace's multi-sensory practice continues to expand with each project, spanning illustration, portraiture, animation, sculpture and murals, amongst other mediums.
