Resurgence

A contemplative portrait set against a background of transformed leaf patterns, this piece explores the intersection of human consciousness and natural rhythms. The vibrant purple tones derive from nature photography of roots to evoke a sense of groundedness, contrasted against the golden yellow leaf patterns derived from transformed foliage captured during visits to the Botanical Gardens in Sheffield. My signature layered approach to combining and transforming these natural elements creates a rich tapestry of texture and colour.

This piece was chosen to feature in the Delphian Gallery Open Call Winners Exhibition 2023.
